Healthy Body + Healthy Mind= Healthy Work Environment

July is Wellness Month at 3411 Coworking because we desire for our members to be happy and healthy! Every week this month, we are hosting member events that will encourage a healthy mindset and work environment. A few member events occurring at our space this month include a power protein breakfast, a nutritious lunch & learn, and a wine & yoga event. Establishing a healthy routine will increase energy levels, attitude, and physical/mental well-being.

1. Eat three nutrient-rich meals a day
Consuming at least three meals a day will help you receive the nutrients that you need. Many people believe that skipping breakfast will assist with weight loss, but breakfast-eaters tend to have healthier eating habits.
2. Drink 8 ounces of water 8-12 times a day
Water intake is something that a lot of people neglect. It’s important for your body to have a high amount of water to flush out any toxins, boost your metabolism, and to keep your organs functioning properly. If you keep track of how many ounces of water you drink daily, you can hold yourself accountable to drink the proper amount.
3. Avoid processed (junk) foods
Sugar is thrown into almost all processed foods. Large amounts of sugar can lead to obesity, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Look for items at the grocery store with ingredients that include all whole foods names. If you can’t pronounce the ingredient, then you probably shouldn’t buy it. Not only do fresh and whole foods taste better, they’re better for you!
4. Exercise regularly
If you exercise for at least 75-150 minutes a week, then you are on track for the recommended amount of activity for adults. The best way to enter into an exercise routine is by walking. You can set goals for yourself and gradually increase your amount of movement. Everyone has to start somewhere, so don’t fear physical activity!
In order to establish healthier habits, we are incorporating challenges into our weekly routines for the month of July. The challenges for this month include a hydration challenge, step challenge, meditation challenge, cook at home challenge and a workout challenge. These challenges have evoked some healthy competition around our work space and have encouraged all of our members to become more healthy overall. Keeping our members’ minds and bodies healthy is a priority of ours!
